10th Annual Client Appreciation Crab Feast

This year marked the 10th Annual Client Appreciation Crab Feast held by Eglseder Wealth Management Group, Inc. Held on Saturday, October 12ththe festivities took place a little later than the usual September time slot. With cooler weather and larger crabs available, it seemed fitting to host it in October. Another change implemented this year is that we provided all of the food and crabs ourselves instead of having it catered. Our goal is for our clients to have the best possible experience and to know how much we appreciate their business, so it’s important that the food doesn’t disappoint. We think we accomplished that this year!

The day on Saturday started off a little chilly while we were getting everything set up. By the time our guests started to arrive it was sunny and in the low 70’s--a perfect day to enjoy an outdoor picnic and crab feast! We want to thank everyone who dropped toys into our Marine’s Toys for Tots box (an annual toy drive for underprivileged children). The box is over half full and we know the gifts will delight many kids, come Christmas time. For anyone who would still like to donate a new, unwrapped toy, the box will remain in our lobby until mid-November

Guests were greeted by the smell of freshly grilled burgers from Frase's Butcher Shop and Nathan’s hot dogs. Choices of sides included potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans. The crabs arrived nice and hot from Cole’s Seafood here in Easton and they were the best crabs anyone had seen in a long time. The crabs all came from the Miles River and were large and full of meat. Many clients (who have lived for decades or even a lifetime on the Eastern Shore) even commented they were some of the best crabs they’ve ever had. That delighted us to hear and we thank Cole’s Seafood for doing such a good job preparing them! Also not to be outshined, oysters on the half shell were provided by Fisherman’s Daughter in Tilghman Island and were industriously shucked by Tim, the husband of our wonderful EWMG team member, Chris. Guests were there to scoop up those oysters as fast as Tim could shuck them.

We hosted 165 guests total and they ate 20 bushels of crabs. Once they had their fill they were treated to homemade ice cream provided by Scottish Highland Creamery out of Oxford. There were 6 flavors to choose from including a fall-inspired pumpkin flavor, which was a big favorite. People also had the choice of three flavors of pie from our local Amish Market here in Easton.

It seemed that everyone had a great time eating, visiting and enjoying a wonderful fall day. Thank you to everyone who joined us and, for those who couldn’t make it, hopefully next year we can treat you to an equally satisfying crab feast. Again, thank you to our clients for putting your confidence and trust in us and we sincerely appreciate your business. Here’s to many more years working together!
